What songwriters say about songwriting workshops...
Thank you so much for a great day yesterday. Even though my music is different to yours, there is much to learn, and I learned a great deal yesterday. I especially appreciated the framework and approaches for lyric-writing, and I know that will be something I use in the future.
It is also interesting to realise that, in the scheme of things, while there are of course differences in approach across the musical genres, there is also so much in common.
So, thank you Roger, for your skill and expertise and great teaching approach, and to you, Amanda, for your gentle behind-the-scenes talents. Food and hospitality was great! Peta Williams
I just thought that I would take the opportunity to thank you both from the great day of songwriting instruction yesterday.
As a musician I have always found composition a chore - especially songwriting, but Roger, the clear instructions and the activities that you gave us to do were excellent and really inspired me to do more songwriting - especially when the mood doesn't make me.
I came away with some great ideas and even better some practical approaches. Peter Christie.
