Western Australian singer/songwriter Kate Linke, caught the red eye plane service from Perth this week to brave the Blue Mountains cold weather and record her first full album at The Valley Studio. Kate has been collaborating with Roger for the last three years on twelve great original songs, loaded with a unique Australian perspective. Yesterday fellow WA’arian Rudi Miranda added his contribution laying down the drums. Kate’s album will be available for Tamworth.

‘The Morning Show’ created a quiet success in Tamworth this Festival.
Featuring three core artists, Tracy Killeen, Nicki Gillis and Peter Pratt and backed by a well-rehearsed professional band, The Morning Show at the Longyard Hotel proved co-operation works for independent artists and featured additional cameo appearances from The Bushwackers, Sarah McMonagle, Anita Ree, Michelle Little, Korey Livy and Polly Medlen.
‘The Morning Show’ is the latest innovation from The Valley Studio and Door 2 Door Publicity featuring artists who have had albums produced by Roger Corbett at the Valley Studio.
‘The key factor was that these shows were all ticketed shows and were very well attended everyday. When people pay a small ticket price for a show they value that experience more highly” says Roger.
“With the artisst working together, we combined our marketing skills, and created three much better shows - more than we could ever hope to achieve individually, especially as Independent country artists.” says Amanda O’Bryan from Door2Door Publicity.
The idea of artists working co-operatively is not a new one but in this current climate of fierce and relentless competition at Tamworth it’s wonderful that a concept like ‘The Morning Show’ found a solid and appreciative audience.
‘The Morning Show’ will be a feature of next year’s Tamworth Festival and will stage FOUR concerts from Wednesday to Saturday featuring even more artists.
